iRacing iZod IndyCar Premier Racing Series

There have been a lot of strides happening lately in the online racing world. Nascar has sanctioned a series and iRacing was chosen as the vehicle.

Grand Am has done the same and there is an iRacing Gran AM series running this year, that is running the Daytona Prototypes and Mustang FRS500 cars.

These series allow sim racers to take the next step and run with some serious stakes on the line. Drivers World Cups for both Oval and Road carry $10,000 us prizes, with last years Oval Champion being flown from England to Miami for presentation of trohpy and check at the final round of the Nascar Sprint Cup at Homestead.

Something that is very exciting to me as a long time CART/ Indy fan has just been announced.

As seen on and :

The announcement of the internet-based virtual-racing series was made jointly today by INDYCAR® and
