Ah the month of May. Spring has sprung and the trees are full of leaves. Days are longer and we’re coming up on swimming season.
The Indy 500 is coming and iRacing is running an Indy 500 also. If you are a member, you should be thinking of running it. If you aren’t a member and have a decent computer, you can get a great deal on signing up and racing in the iRacing Indy 500.
If you having been thinking about a membership to iRacing, now is a great time to go ahead and take the plunge. iRacing is running a special promotion that will include the Dallara, IMS and a three month membership for $32. The promotion code is: PR-INDY2010.
If you go ahead and sign up, please use shane.lowry AT orangesands.com in the referral box during registration.
Season 2 of 2010 also brings an Aussie flavour to iRacing that, being an Aussie myself, I’m particularly excited about. The V8 Supercars are in town, well one of them at least. The Ford Falcon FG01 has made it’s debut to rave reviews. I’m coming up to speed on it, and it drives great. It requires as delicate a right foot as you would expect and the live rear end has been modeled too. This means the car has a tendency to push on entry and get tail happy on corner exit.
The FG01 was modeled from Ford Performance Racing, so has the quirks of that race team.
Also joining the service is Phillip Island raceway. It looks and drives wonderfully, it’s a tough track to tame but a lot of fun.
Keep the shiny side up.
